This time around we are working on a picnic quilt! This project is perfect just in time for the warmer weather headed our way.
Some quick details on the quilt we’ll be making:
– measures 64″ x 64″
– requires only one quilt block (repeated multiple times)
– super sized blocks for quick piecing
– super easy to make
– great beginner project
-cutting only squares and strips
-fun modern geometric design

6053-RY: 7/8 yard (chickens in yellow background)
6058-R: 1/2 yard (binding- flowers in red background)
6056-RT: 1 3/8 yards (chicks & eggs in aqua background)

Very pretty line. Haven’t done to many children quilts. It would be nice to have one ready for whatever might come up.

What a great idea! I love “Bubble and Swirl” and I plan to make a quilt with that fabric for my son who’s going overseas for his 6th year medicine studies end of this year. It looks like I’ll be making a quilt for myself if I get lucky and win “Locally Grown” bundle, wouldn’t that be wonderful. I really like the patterns you have chosen. My kitchen is all done in chickens and roosters this project would complete my dining room wall I have been waiting for the right thing to come along. What better than a handmade wall hanging. I love all your tutorials as I am a beginner quilter.

I’m not usually into neutral colored fabrics, but the Chickadee collection is so adorable! I love the ones with the bird silhouettes. If I won, this would actually be my first quilt 🙂 My husband and I are trying to find an affordable homestead ourselves (which seems sadly impossible in the SF Bay Area!), but in the mean time the locally grown fabric would match our urban permaculture lifestyle just fine! All the best.
