kathy mota
I started sewing at a young age and loved the idea of making garments that no one else had or was wearing. As life went on, I had forgotten just how fun and fulfilling sewing was until 2016 when I stumbled onto Vanessa’s videos with Jenny Doan from Missouri Star Quilt Company. The two-part tutorial on the making of a quilt-as-you-go tote bag hooked me back into sewing and I haven’t stopped! The tote was my introduction into quilting since up to this point my only sewing experiences were with garment sewing. That video was also my intro to The Crafty Gemini (CG). What hooked me to CG was her ability to convince me that I can make whatever it is that she is demonstrating. Her style of teaching and knack for being able to break down each project into bite-sized bits makes the completion of each project easier and less frustrating. I have joined many of her clubs and tried a lot of her video tutorials. I have learned so much from Vanessa and continue to improve my sewing skills while gaining confidence with each new project she makes available to us. Thank you so much Vanessa for inviting us into your crazy, fun world.
