It’s finally ready! My first video sew along of 2014! You asked for more garment sewing videos so here it is! Today I’m revealing Video #1 of my new peplum cardigan sew along. The pattern we are using is very popular in online sewing circles and was even voted the #1 Sewing Pattern of 2013 by PatternReview.com users. Needless to say, it’s a good one! I have made a few of these cardigans already and I thought it would be a great project for a sew along.
{Disclaimer: I’ve included my Amazon affiliate links to the sewing pattern below. If you use any of those links to make a purchase I will earn a small percentage of the sale price. Thanks for your support!}
The sewing pattern we’ll be using is McCall’s 6844
It comes in two sets of sizes:
SIZE Y: XS-S-M
SIZE ZZ: L-XL-XXL
Peplum cardigan I made in navy. |
Some of the reasons why I picked this pattern for a video sew along:
• Easy enough for beginners to start with.
• No zippers, buttons, closures, etc.
• Made from a stable knit fabric so it’s easier to work with than a slinky knit.
• You only need two yards (at the most) of fabric for sizes XS-XXL.
• It whips up really quickly!
• Great addition to any wardrobe.
• Can be thrown over jeans and a t-shirt to dress it up a bit.
Each week I will post the next installment in the sew along series until we cover everything from what’s in the pattern envelope to tips on how to hem a peplum or circle skirt. It’s gonna be fun!
{p.s.- The entire sew along series will be archived in this video playlist. So, whenever you come across this post just click here and you’ll be able to watch all the videos in order. Better yet, subscribe to my YouTube channel and you won’t miss out on any of my future videos!}
I hope you’ll give this project a try and join us! Gather your pattern and meet me here next week where we’ll get into the fabric I suggest you use! See you then!
Leave me a comment below and let me know if you will be joining in on the fun!
