Sewing up a new wardrobe!

It’s 2014.
I’ve lost 65 lbs.
I’ve cleared out my closet.
I’ve {mostly} de-cluttered my bedroom.
NOW….
I’m ready to sew up a storm and make myself a whole new wardrobe!
I’m by no means a fashionista and I certainly don’t claim to be.
I’m just a 30-yr old mom with a healthier new look who needs new clothes!
To dress my new self I started off with some professional help:
1) Tried out a personal styling online service. Click HERE to read that post.
2) Consulted with a professional stylist on what to wear for my body type and lifestyle. Click HERE to read that post.
Now we get to the part that I’m in total control of- the sewing of these new garments!

To gather my ideas I created a Pinterest board with my style inspiration. These pins consist of outfits, looks or pieces that I either love or would love to wear.  You can check out my Style Inspiration board HERE.

My personal stylist also created a board for me of things she recommends- you can see it HERE.

I spent the month of January researching what garments to sew. I tried to focus on versatile pieces that can be dressed up or down, are comfortable and most importantly, fit my crazy-busy-mom-of-two-preschoolers-living-on-a-farm-lifestyle.
Here is what I need to make ASAP:
• A blazer {I’ve never owned one but they make you look so chic, right?}
• Peplum top with sleeves {Don’t ask. I just love peplums and don’t have any.}
• 3/4 sleeve stretch knit tops that can be worn with jeans, a skirt, belted, with a blazer, etc.
• A not-too-short skirt I can wear with funky colored tights. {Again, don’t ask. I have a funky streak in me.}
• Cute stretchy tees to wear with jeans that can be easily elevated with cute shoes and accessories.
• A smokin’ hot dress {or two!} for date nights with the hubby. {He will freak if he sees me in a dress. I haven’t worn a dress in almost 3 years. HA!}
Ok, y’all. I put it out there. Now I need to deliver. I’ll be hunting down patterns for all these pieces and will report back to you soon with which ones I decide on and why. If you have any TNT {tried and true} patterns you absolutely love that fit any of my above descriptions feel free to let me know so I can check them out.
Thanks!
