Longarm Machine Quilting- Loading your quilt

Today, I’m going to introduce you to Longarm machine quilting. My longarm machine is a Voyager 17. I named him after my husband’s favorite college football player- Janoris. I’m going to show you a quilt that I am recently working on for a baby girl. It is composed of nine quilt blocks and measures 36” x 36”. The patter is pretty simple but it still looks beautiful.

Meanwhile, I am going to walk you through the step by step process on how to prep the quilt for loading onto your frame. I am going to use the Stretch Frame setup by Hinterberg. Before starting, I always start by iron pressing the backing fabric. Then, I will show you tips and tricks on how to properly load the fabrics. Specifically, how to pin the backing, how to layer the three fabrics, and how to baste them all together.

Here’s my video on Longarm machine quilting about loading your quilt. I hope you enjoy it! See you in my next video tutorial

Happy Quilting!
