In this tutorial, I will show you how to wind Longarm Bobbins using a SideWinder. It is easy to use and it is inexpensive. I have been using this machine for over 3 years now and this is how I do it:
The machine consists of a stick where you hold your thread, a tension set up, and a bobbin holder. However, the thread that I will be using is a cone thread and it is not a good fit for the machine. Don’t worry, this is not a problem at all. I am able to wind my Longarm Bobbins with a cone thread. You can place your cone thread into a thread stand. Then, position the thread stand parallel to where the thread should be placed in the machine. Also, I tried not using a thread stand or any kind of stand and it still works. I just placed my cone thread next to the machine and as the SideWinder works, the cone thread was just there leaning towards it. Additionally, there are arrow guides on the machine to where you should be placing and winding your thread.
This is where I bought my SideWinder. Watch my video and see for yourself how convenient this machine is.
