This day has finally arrived! The official launch of the Crafty Gemini show! The first episode has been officially posted on Crafty Gemini channel. Watch Episode #1 below.
The Crafty Gemini show is about accentuating what people already have. Yes, it is very convenient to be able to go out and buy your children new clothes or new birthday gifts for friends & family, but it is becoming less possible to do these things with the usual convenience because of the current economic conditions in our country and in the world.
The Crafty Gemini show allows viewers of all backgrounds and income/resource levels, to participate equally and effectively in the projects presented.
The show will cover sewing & quilting, paper crafts, cooking, baking, and all kinds of shortcuts, tips & tricks along the way. It’s all about being resourceful and using what you already have to make a great new gift or article of clothing!
The first episode covers some budget-friendly cloth diapering tips, what kinds of cloth diapers I have made and used on our baby boy, how to make 7 double-layer soakers for only $0.50, and where to purchase ultra-absorbent microfiber towels to use as soakers.

great ideas. My kids are now 17 & 14 but we did cloth diapers all the way thru. I love to hear when mothers are using them. You have a great presence on the video. Congrats!
Another thing that was very useful for me was what I would call sheet covers. I took 4 or 5 layers of fabric (including flannel), and cut them all the size of the mattress top. Serge or zig zag around the edge, and sew 4 ties in the corners. TIE this sheet cover onto the crib over their regular sheet. You can even use several of these at once. IN the middle of
the night, when you have to change a sheet for whatever reason, it’s a simple matter of untying the 4 or 6 ties and whipping that puppy out. Fresh sheet underneath! I hope this makes sense. This is not something you can buy ANYwhere, but boy was it useful to me.

What a GREAT tutorial! Thank you so much for sharing this. I just stumbled on your blog via a beginner’s sewing tutorial on how to cut straight lines that I found you youTube (also very informative by the way!) and I’m so glad I found my way here. Love your blog!

I just watched this on YouTube! This is awesome. As soon as I can find the button, I’m going to follow your blog 🙂 My daughter (2 next month) has been in cloth diapers since she was 4 months,I bought them online. She is suddenly soaking through them at night, soaking through disposables, too! I’m so excited about trying to make the fleece & microfiber. She’ll go on the potty pretty often while she’s awake. If I can just get her something to confidently wear to bed, that would be super. It didn’t seem like I’ll need a cover with the fleece and microfiber .. is that right? 🙂 Thanks so much.
