I’m bringing you a new tutorial this week for a fun craft project you can make with your kids or grandkids this summer! This child’s apron features a hand painted pocket on the front and is reversible. We used two different types of fabric paints for the artwork on the pockets- solid matte colors ($1.99 per tube) and a bundle of 11 glitter paints (less than $8.00!) I found on clearance at my local Tuesday Morning.

If you’re not familiar with Tuesday Morning (and their crazy low prices!) do yourself a favor and click here to find your local store. It’s totally worth it! If you follow my Facebook and Instagram posts then you already know what I’m talking about. They carry brand name and high quality goods for every room in your house! {Click here for my first Tuesday Morning haul video to get a better sense of what they carry and the great prices.}
These aprons are so easy to whip up any beginner can tackle this project with the help of my step-by-step video tutorial. The apron only requires a few basic sewing and crafting supplies. In this video I share with you the five things I picked up on a recent trip to Tuesday Morning and how I used them to create these fun aprons with my two preschoolers. Some items were priced as low as $0.99!
Remember that their stock is constantly changing because they sell closeout inventory. So, once something is gone, it’s gone for good. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again- it’s worth taking a trip there every week or every few weeks to see what they have in stock. Just to give you an idea– I swung by today during a big clearance sale they had and picked up the cutest set of six oven-safe ramekins for less than $2, a few kids puzzles for $1 each and even an ironing board for $6!}
Another bargain I got at Tuesday Morning was a bundle of six ribbon spools for $5.99! A total of 39 yards of ribbon for that price. Jackpot! The kids picked out their ribbon and we used it for the apron ties. Easy peasy!
6-pack of ribbon spools (39 yards total)- Regular price: $11.99. Tuesday AM price: $5.99 |
I like to work on projects that my kids and I can create together. As you’ll see in the video my four year old son even helped me with the sewing {scroll down for pics}. It’s fun to receive gifts but I think they appreciate it more when they can contribute their handiwork and see what went into making it. In this video you’ll see what parts of the project I let the kids have complete control over and what I did myself. I hope this video will inspire you to get crafty with your littles this summer and give this easy project a try! It is easy… I promise! Just follow my video tutorial and you’ll be fine.
Now for the best part! My friends at Tuesday Morning offering up one $50 gift certificate to a lucky Crafty Gemini follower. All the details on how to enter the giveaway are below in the Rafflecopter widget. GOOD LUCK! {giveaway closed]
