Y’all, the weather has been GORGEOUS! We haven’t had to turn on the AC in four days! These breezy, dry and cool days are just amazing.
I’ve been playing pickleball every day this week and working on a Halloween quilt that I have LESS THAN 10 DAYS to finish. Have I made all the blocks yet? Nope. Am I starting to question my timeline? A little. 😂 But do I still think I can pull it off? Absolutely! 💁🏽♀️

✨ CRAFTY GEMINI WORK
I’m working on a Halloween quilt for my couch. Of course I would up and decide to make a Halloween quilt a few weeks before the holiday. 🤭
I pulled an assortment of black, white and orange fabrics. Some are actual Halloween prints others are not but they go well together.
I’m using this pattern. It’s a favorite for a quick go-to quilt that features a square in a square quilt block and it uses 10″ x 10″ contrasting fabric squares. I cut up the patchwork pieces in no time with my Stripology Squared Ruler. I’ll keep you posted on whether or not I can finish the quilt before the end of this month.
✨ WHATNOT SHOPPING SHOWS
I’m hosting another fabric, sewing tools & notions show this week! I’m starting all half yards of quilting cottons at just $3.00! I’ll have interfacing, pattern tracing paper, rulers and notions for sale. I have 1,000m all-purpose polyester thread spools, too! ✨ COMMUNITY SERVICE
This morning we had our Senior Citizen Showcase in our small town of Alachua, FL. It’s a free event for the community where local organizations and vendors table and provide information to our seniors. My husband was the MC this year and I helped attendees make a little necklace at our table. We also provided lunch and it was a great success.

✨ IN THE GARDEN
The garden hasn’t had any rain in a week so I was out there watering yesterday. I’m itching to clear all my pumpkin vines out and reclaim all that garden real estate but I’ll wait a few more weeks. We are still harvesting roselle and peppers but look a the pretty zinnias that are blooming right now, too! My auyama (calabaza/ west indian pumpkins) are almost ready to harvest. The lettuce seedlings are loving the cooler temps and that reminds me I need to get my carrot seeds sown this weekend! Oh, it’s also time to plant garlic! Phew. Lot’s to do in the garden this time of year.
✨ This Week’s Favorite
This week my favorite thing was playing pickleball with my kids! My husband, both teens and I spent two hours playing pickleball on Sunday. Before heading home my son was hungry so we stopped to grab some food. We walk into the restaurant and he sees two friends. They were eating and then going to… you guessed it… go play pickleball! 🤭 My son wanted to go with them but they would need one more player to make it an even four for some doubles matches. Of course I volunteered! I said, “if you guys don’t mind a mom, I can play!” So, Jonathan and I played another two hours of pickleball and then went home! It was an awesome Sunday! What other sport can a 43 yr old mom play with three 17 year old athletic boys and still hang?! I LOVE IT!
