It’s finally starting to feel a little cooler in the mornings around here, and I LOVE it! I feel alive with the Florida heat but some breezy cool Fall temps are amazing too!
Been keeping busy with a little bit of everything lately. I’m back to quilting, squeezing in a few days of pickleball each week, lots of cooking and cleaning and watching my Netflix novelas while I work.
Between all that and everything else happening around here, there’s never a shortage of things to do!
Let me catch you up on what’s been going on this week…
✨ CRAFTY GEMINI WORK
I finished a baby quilt! This was a quickie quilt with no piecing… just a panel! One of my favorite ways to get my quilty sew-jo back. I literally just loaded the longarm with backing fabric and batting and floated the baby quilt panel right on top. It took me less than 20 minutes to quilt it.
I chose a fabric with foliage and similar colors for the backing since the quilt panel had a baby safari theme. For the binding a chose a gray text print. I love how it turned out! If you have any panels in your stash give it a go if you need a quick finish!

✨ WHATNOT SHOPPING SHOWS

✨ COMMUNITY SERVICE
Bingo this week was a hit with the senior citizens! We had a full house as usual and can’t wait until our city builds the new community center. We should have more space for our community activities.
We are putting the final touches on the Senior Showcase event for next week. I’ll be sure to snap pics so I can share some with you!

✨ IN THE GARDEN
My friend, Laura, was visiting us from Maryland this weekend. We had so much fun! But when you visit a homestead you gotta work, too. 🤭 She did an awesome job harvesting roselle and peppers every few days. We even made roselle curd (scroll down for recipe). It’s delicious!!
The lettuce is growing. My sunflowers had to be pulled up because over 7 days of rain in a row put an end to the last ones I had blooming out there. But no worries, I have another tray that needs to be transplanted so I’ll have more soon enough.

✨ This Week’s Favorite
This week my favorite thing was the cake decorating class Laura and I took this weekend with Cake Crazzie!
We got to level, stack and frost a 4-tier Halloween cake! We have a local baker that offers classes every once in a while and this was my second one. The class is hosted at a local brewery and all supplies and materials are included. We ordered one vanilla and one chocolate cake so we could swap layers and make each of our cakes with both. These are the kinds of classes I love to sign up for- anything where I’m working with my hands! Learn a little something new and take a finished 4-tier cake for the family!
Have you taken any new classes lately?

Chat with you again next week!
