One thing I’ve been thinking about lately is how important it is to try new things.
I’ll be honest I have never really had a problem in that department. lol. I’ve always been down for trying something new. But I’ve noticed that raising teenagers requires me to push a little more on this idea than I used to when they were younger. Pre-puberty they were ready to try anything! Now, not so much.
As they get older they aren’t as easy to sign up for new adventures and experiences as they were when they were younger. But the main thing for me is that they are at least willing to try.
Sometimes they’re nervous. Sometimes they flat out don’t want to do it. Sometimes they surprise themselves.
But they learn something every time.
And honestly, I think we adults could use a little more of that, too.
Trying something new doesn’t have to mean making some huge change. It can be as simple as taking a new class, learning a new skill, making something you’ve never made before, or saying yes to something that feels just a little outside your comfort zone (we call these “scary” things in my house).
Like I tell my kids, “You don’t have to know if you’ll love it before you try it.”
Sometimes you just have to be willing to be a beginner again. It may sound strange but I LOVE being a beginner at something because I know if I like it and want to get better at it, I will.
I’m learning how to play pickleball and I’m a super beginner and it’s still so much fun! I can’t imagine how much more fun I’ll be having when I know what I’m doing. haha. Here’s what else I did this week:

The 6th and final course in my 3rd Edition Mystery Mini Bag Club was posted yesterday for registered students. It’s called the Onyx Water Bottle Pouch and some students have already made it! AMAZING!
✨ WHATNOT SHOPPING SHOWS
I just got some new Art Gallery Fabrics quilting cottons in today and I’ll be opening them up tomorrow night on my next live show! I’ll be starting the auctions at just $5 per yard of premium quilting cotton. So, they will go fast!

✨ COMMUNITY SERVICE
This week I was working solo for the afterschool craft classes so I had to keep it manageable for myself and 26 kids. Here are the only two pics I managed to snap.
We decorated wooden picture frames with acrylic paint markers and made custom necklaces with cute little pendants! They loved their projects and it was so cute to see some of the kids making necklaces for their moms or siblings.

✨ IN THE GARDEN
Same old same old. My mom came for a few days and we were… you guessed it! Harvesting more peppers. LOL.
And some of my sunflowers are already blooming!
I need to get busy planting more seeds. I’m way behind for this this Fall but I think this weekend I can plant a good bit.
✨ This Week’s Favorite
This week my favorite thing is shopping on Whatnot!
You already know that I love Whatnot as a seller but it is also so much fun to be a buyer!
I’ve been watch dozens of jewelry sellers and have 3 or 4 favorites already. My first few orders came and I love them all.
I want to add a bit more variety to my jewelry without spending a ton of money so I was excited to find some excellent reviews on a few of the sellers pages.
Here is one of my faves! This cute everyday chain with letter “V” pendant. So cute and didn’t break the bank!
My husband and kids were gone a few days this week but I stayed behind to tend to the farm and animals. So, I’m headed to bed early tonight because I’m pooped but hey, I got the email out on Wednesday this time. lol
