My son turns 17 tomorrow.
SEVENTEEN, y’all.
I remember when I was 17 like it was a few years ago. HA! But now I feel like I blinked and somehow the little guy who used to show up in my videos is now almost 6’3″ tall. 😂
And I think that’s mostly what I’ve been thinking about this week: how quickly things change while we’re busy living.
We don’t always notice the growth happening because we’re too busy making dinner, filming videos, harvesting veggies, homeschooling kids, answering emails, and trying to remember where we put the rotary cutter!
Then every once in a while, you stop and realize…
Wow. Look how far we’ve come. We really are HERE.
This week was definitely one of those weeks for me. So grab a cup of coffee (or whatever you’re drinking today), and let me catch you up on what’s been happening around here…

✨ CRAFTY GEMINI WORK
In the studio I finished editing the video course for my latest pattern, the Raine Crossbody Bag. It’s such a cute little bag for when you just need a few essentials. It’s currently only available for Mystery Mini Bag Club #3 students but we will offer it for sale individually soon.
Some students already made the bag and they nailed it! See below for a few pics.
I also ran another live shopping show last night on Whatnot. Thanks to everyone who popped in and shopped with us! These shows are a lot of fun and have been going great. So, I opened up a few more wholesale accounts with fabric manufacturers and I’m looking forward to bringing in some new fabrics for future shows.
You can join the fun using my link below. After your first purchase WhatNot gives you a $25 credit to shop more live shows!

I’ll be going LIVE again this Friday at 8:00pm EDT! I’ll be specifically featuring a bunch of different Jalie sewing patterns at discounted prices so, if you are looking to make more clothes this is the show for you! Here is the direct show link: https://www.whatnot.com/s/DJcvDk6q

✨ COMMUNITY SERVICE
After a brief break we are back to offering our afterschool crafting & entrepreneurship workshops tomorrow. I’m excited to teach a new group of kids at our local middle school. Should be a lot of fun as usual!

✨ IN THE GARDEN
It’s a funny time in the garden this month because while some crops are thriving others are on their way out. So, we are basically splitting our time between constantly harvesting peppers and okra and pulling out almost everything else.
I have lots of seedlings started for the Fall garden including cabbage, lettuce, sunflowers, zinnias, mustard greens, kale, collard greens, etc. But I LOVE this time of year for my peppers! I harvested just over 4lbs of 4 different peppers this week! Santa Fe Grande (a little spicy), shishito (every 1 in 8 is a little spicy), jalapeños (a little spicy), scotch bonnet (very spicy). I also am excited that a fig tree cutting my mom brought me last month has started putting out some new growth. Yay!! I love figs.

✨ This Week’s Favorite
This week my favorite thing I’ve made is a quick craft project after seeing several viral videos! If you’re in the journal or planner community you’ve probably seen it, too! It’s the viral journal cover made from a plastic mesh zipper pouch. I had one here so I quickly punched holes, added eyelets (from my sneaker making supplies!) and some ¼” wide elastic (that’s all I had!) and whipped one up. I sent a video to a few girlfriends and we quickly decided to have a craft day where we will make and decorate more of these in a few weeks. I already bought a bunch of zipper pouches and 2mm elastic cord in a bunch of colors. They just have to bring stickers, charms, cute pens and markers to fill the pockets with. Can’t wait!
There are so many cute journal cover tutorials on Instagram! Just type in “viral journal cover” and you’ll see what I mean. I’m including a quick screenshot for you below in case you like this kind of stuff.

That’s the jist of my week but you know me… I did A LOT more this week than just that. LOL.
Thanks for reading all the way through this newsletter. It’s a lot of fun to put my thoughts and snippets of my life into these emails. I hope you’re enjoying them. See you next week.
