How to Crochet a Flower Video Tutorial

Now that we have the crochet basics out of the way with my new How To Crochet video series, let’s get started with our first project!  In this video tutorial I’ve teamed up with Lion Brand® Yarns to bring you a step-by-step video tutorial on how to make these adorable crocheted flowers.  You can use these to embellish all types of projects from headbands, to purses and even garments! My daughter loves her flower headbands and I love making them for her because they whip up so quickly!

The pattern we’ll be using for this crocheted flower tutorial is a free pattern offered up by Lion Brand® Yarns on their website.  You can access the free pattern by clicking HERE. {Note: You will first need to create a free account with Lion Brand® Yarn and then login to access the thousands of free patterns in their online library including this one.}

The yarn I used in the video is part of the Bonbons collection by Lion Brand® Yarns that comes in a ton of different colorways.  Each package comes with 8 little skeins. Bonbons are a great way to try out some small projects or to get a beginner into crochet with some yarn variety. I like that I don’t have to buy eight large skeins to get all the colors to coordinate.  To give you an idea of how many flowers you can make from one bonbon- I was able to make a small, a medium and was halfway through a large flower before the little skein ran out on me.  So, I’ll say you can get at least three flowers as long as they are small or medium in size according to the pattern. And you get eight skeins per package. Not bad at all!
