In today’s video, I will give you 3 tips for piecing with precision that comes in handy for your quilted projects. I hope to make this tutorial as easy and simple as possible so that either beginners or experienced quilters can still be able to get it. I also believe that it’s important that aside from just learning to do this, you also know why you should do it. In that way, you are not just able to perform it but you are also building your skillset.
Here are my tips for piecing with precision:
- Apply starch to your fabric. As a result, this makes your fabric stiff. So, it will be easy to work with and it won’t move on you too much. Also, there’s no problem applying starch multiple times and the fabric becomes stiffer. Because you can wash the fabric afterward and it will all wash out.
- Use glass-head pins. These are your pins with glass heads instead of plastic. You can iron through these pins without having to worry that it might melt.
- Use a fabric glue stick. The thing about this is it is non-toxic and washable. Moreover, unlike your school glue which still needs iron pressing after, this one doesn’t. All you need to do is press the fabric with your fingers.
This is just one of the many videos and tutorials that I will be making as a part of the online community that I’m currently working on building. In this online community, I will be posting various course lessons like never-before-seen quilting videos. As well as, LIVE chats, LIVE web streams, and more! Stay tuned!
