Well, I did it! I finished my Halloween quilt the day BEFORE Halloween. I knew I could do it! 😂 And it turned out GREAT!

We also had a few different Halloween parties to attend last week which is so fun! I love Halloween and dressing up. My husband wore a lion costume and suggested I be a lion tamer so I whipped up a quick costume the night before our Halloween Pickleball Party. We took the kids trick or treating the next day and my son wanted to wear the lion costume and my daughter went as Paddington Bear. I spent the afternoon making her red bucket hat with bear ears, and let’s just say there were a few moments when I wondered what I’d gotten myself into. But we pulled it off! Her entire costume turned out amazing!

It’s been a busy week with plenty of projects, family activities, and all the usual happenings around here. I’ve got lots to catch you up on!

✨ CRAFTY GEMINI WORK

Ta-dah! My finished Halloween quilt! What do you think? I love it! I did a quick and easy all over meander quilting design with my Handi Quilter Moxie XL.

I used this pattern. It’s a favorite for a quick go-to quilt that features a square in a square quilt block and it uses 10″ x 10″ contrasting fabric squares. I cut up the patchwork pieces in no time with my Stripology Squared Ruler.

✨ IN THE GARDEN

We finally got a bit of rain this week but I haven’t had time to do much in the garden so far. Ahhh. Running a little late to get my garlic and carrots in the ground so we’ll see if this weekend I find a few hours to get it all done.

My Louisiana Evergreen shallots are growing nicely and I got a new Dragonfly Seed Starter Kit from Greenstalk and I’m excited to give it a try and see how my seedlings will grow in it. I’ll keep you posted.

✨ This Week’s Favorite

I had some time this week to work on a fun little project! For the past few years I’ve seen these sweatshirts with quilt blocks on them. I finally gave it a go! I decided to use some of my fabric scraps and make a 10″ sawtooth star quilt block and put it on an old sweatshirt to see how it looks. I love it! What do you think? I’m thinking about making a tutorial on this. Let me know if you want to see one.
