The kids and I had a great Valentine’s Day together on the farm! We spent the majority of our day outside prepping our spring garden and starting seeds in trays. The weather was in the low 60ºs today so I was thankful for that! But sheesh this Florida weather can be crazy at times. We went from 80º one day to a high of 42º the next! I am sooooo ready for spring warmth to arrive and STAY!
My baby girl loves to start seeds so she got to prep the trays for me today.

I got to shovel composted chicken manure and rabbit poo. Yum! Nothing like all natural and organic fertilizer for the garden plot!

Even the dogs and goats were enjoying the beautiful day! Everyone has a good time on our little farm!

No bouquet of roses or box of chocolates could top a day like today.
I love being home with my kids enjoying life’s little pleasures on our farm.
What did you do for Valentine’s Day?

Looks like a great day was had by all. What part of Florida ? Here in Wisconsin it was in the low 30 s. Lots of snow on the ground and a chilly wind. I had a lovely day quilting and resting healing from back surgery, post 2 1/2 weeks, bored but had a visit from friends whichhelped pass the time with tea and cconversation.

Ah, Vanessa, You are so nice. I am in England waiting for better weather to get outside in our smallholding. Still, I am enjoying those lovely fruit and veg which he grew and I end up blanching and freezing x

Hi Vanessa. Please tell us more about your farm animals and the roles they play on your farm. Based upon reading your posts you have had dogs, goats, rabbits, chickens and ducks. Am I right? Do you still have all of them and did I miss others? I have English Angora rabbits that are sweet pets, but I harvest their brushed out shedded hair for wool which I make into yarn, I have purchased a farm in which I will add other fiber type animals next spring.

Yesterday was so weird here in southern Germany- it was super warm! So, we went out for chocolate cake and made a picnic in the park to enjoy the sunny weather and a delayed Valentine’s Day. Today it’s back to grey skies and wool coats. Gotta enjoy that sun when it comes ’round here. 😀

Here in Memphis, TN it was cool and rainy on Valentine’s Day-after homeschooling in the morning we called it quits and went to see my oldest daughter and three kids for the afternoon and came home to a wonderful Chinese dinner brought home by dear hubby of 34 years!!! and one of my sons stopped in to enjoy the meal with us!

Sweet post. I follow your blog because I’m interested in both the sewing projects and the small farm life, which I hope to also be living someday. Thank you for sharing your life with us!
