That’s crazy, right?! I used to think so. Now, that I’m starting a new wardrobe for my new slimmer body I feel a little lost because the last time I was getting all doll-ed up to go out was years and years ago. You know, pre-baby days. The stuff I wore out back in the days is NOT going to work now… especially since now I’m somebody’s momma!  No more low-cut tops and super-sexy-college-night-out-at-the-club-outfits. 4-inch heels? No thanks. I need more laid-back, casual but still cute, edgy and chic clothes.

I see stuff all over Pinterest that I like but I really don’t know how to incorporate that into my everyday life. So, I enlisted the expertise of an old college friend and sorority sister. Her name is Jasmine Carmelle and she is a PROFESSIONAL personal stylist (to some pretty big time people!) and the brains behind LUHV- an on demand concierge styling service provided by Jasmine and her team of style sleuths. She is amazing at what she does and I knew to turn to her because 10+ yrs ago (while in college- GO GATORS!) she used to do my eyebrows and hair and her sense of style was always on point! And yea, you guessed it– she’s a Gemini, too! Crafty Geminis in the house!

I wanted to share my experience in case any of you are in the same boat and looking for some styling help. No matter your size, lifestyle, or if you just need to find a drop-dead gorgeous gown for a one-time event you can hit her up HERE.  She is based in Washington, D.C. by way of Los Angeles, CA but has the skills and resources to help anyone, anywhere. For more info on her services click HERE.

So what did she do to help me? My consult with her went like this…
She asked for a picture of me wearing just a sports bra and some leggings so she could see my body type/shape. If your stylist doesn’t start off with this, be alarmed! Looking fab in an outfit is so much about whether or not the silhouette of the garments fit your body type/shape.
Then we talked about my lifestyle and what I do on a day-to-day basis. If I ever go out, if so, what do I prefer to wear, etc. We shared some pins so she can see what I like. Next thing I know she drafted this amazingly in-depth style guide. Personalized just for me! Yay!
I’m sharing my style guide here with you in hopes of giving you some ideas and inspiration too!
Before and after weight loss pic.
She also created a Pinterest board with things she picked out just for me based one everything we discussed. Check out the Pinterest board HERE or click on the image below.
My personalized style board!
Everything she pinned is perfect! I love it all! I plan to refer back to my style guide and Pinterest board often for inspiration, new outfits to make for myself and new tutorials for you!
Here’s to a healthier, happier and more stylish 2014!
