    • When I signed up for the 2017 bag class I was told to apply again, well I did 4 times!!! Can you delete 3 of them? I have been trying but can’t seem to do it. Thanks for your help.

      • I signed up for your very first set of tutorials but unfortunately I’ve never been able to find them. I had written off the experience until I saw your new tutorials advertised. Is it possible you could advise me on how to find the first tutorials on line?
        Kind regards
        Mary Ferguson

  • You’re welcome! You know I send everyone your way for those tips. 🙂

  • Since I’ve been sharing a little more about the behind the scenes and business side of running an online creative business more of you have been emailing me about ways that you could turn your love of crafts […]

  • I recently had the opportunity to speak on a panel at the 2016 Common Threads event that is hosted by Baby Lock. Common Threads is a private event held at the Tacony/ Baby Lock headquarters near St. Louis, […]

    • I love that machine embroidery piece that you did. It’s gorgeous! I am guilty of being one of those people that have an embroidery machine sitting in the closet, and not being used. I jhave the Janome 350E. I was very excited, and inspired when I first got the machine, but then I get overwhelmed with all the steps to get the design into the machine, and that was it. I did one in store class, and never used the machine again.
So, I am very interested in the embroidery classes that you were talking about in your live cam last night.
Also, that little bag you made is adorable. Would you know if Babylock has the pattern for that project on their website?

    • Hi Vanessa and thank you for sharing all of the wonderful things at Baby Lock.
I purchased the Ovation 1 year ago in June and let me tell you I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE IT! Yes it costs more than others but you cannot compare the quality or any other things it does against any other sergers out there!
I use it a lot and have never had any issues of jamming or breaking down or anything! I am so in love with my machine and after you used it you probably are too!
It’s so easy to use and runs smooth like butter!
I hope I win the giveaway as I bout materials and both your slicers and am looking forward to starting to making my 1st quilt when I get the time.
Thank you for all that you do and I hope to meet you in person 1 day as I’ve pretty much viewed all of your videos.
God Bless and have a wonderful day!😊

    • Hello Vanessa, I’m trying to purchase both your 5 & 10″ slicers. Want to use my credit card instead of PayPal, but PayPal doesn’t let me although the option to use a credit card available. How can I buy your products without having this frustration with PayPal?
      Thank you,
      Nilsa

      • Hi Nilsa. Sorry you’re having trouble with PayPal. Send a quick email to my assistant, Bea (at) craftygemini.com and we will set you up thru a different link. Thanks!

    • My email is msavion1@yahoo.com
      Thank you.

    • You’re welcome! You know I send everyone your way for those tips. 🙂

    • As I have most of the items listed (I plan to purchase the 5″ slicer). May I ask if your tote bag can be made for young children? If so, how? Also, I would like to say I am so proud of you for following your buried desire to become the Crafty Gemini instead of Attorney Vargas-Wilson!!! Thank you for sharing.

    • I was playing around with the 5″ slicer and accidentally made a latticed four patch on point. I went back to it and now I can’t remember how I did it! Has anyone sent any pictures in?

  • It’s definitely feeling and looking like summer here in Florida! The amaryllis flowers are blooming around the front yard. Aren’t they pretty?!

Our gardenias are blooming and the aroma is so lovely as you’re […]

    • Thanks, Vanessa – I love peeking into your great family farm life. The little kids (four footed ones) will be adorable. I worked at a farm camp and the kid goats loved climbing on structures so maybe you can build a little goat climber while you and the kids are waiting for the OTHER kids to be born. Ramps with cleats, platforms, etc – just like a cat climbing structure only big enough for goats.

      • Mary Patrick Thank you so much for your email about the Kelley Cross-body bag I didn’t realize I needed to go to my emails. I am very sorry I just didn’t know how to download your patterns as I’m new to your sight. I love the way you instruct how to sew quilts as well as purses. You taught me to make my first envelope pillow and I have made several since you have posted the tutorial. All my family have loved there pillow creations and I owe all to you Vanessa. You will have to forgive me sometimes I don’t do so well with the computer I think it is for the young people out there. I would be interested in the dresses for dolls patterns as I have a granddaughter that just loves barbie doll clothes. I want to make her some clothes but just don’t if I can make something so little. I love to quilt and love charm packs! You are doing a wonderful job and I really enjoy each tutorial. Keep on sewing!!!

    • hi venessa, i enjoyed your video on the staci purse i bought the item for it ,and ready to go, question, when you do the zipper can i do it with any kind of purse or a tote bag, thank you michelle you can reply with my e-mail mich_gagne@live.ca

You my dear, with an amazing husband, have created a life made just for you! And your family! God bless you and Brandon for the path in life you have chosen and for sharing with the rest of us!

      Happy Birthday!

    • WOW! That is an amazing story! I would say the second best thing that happened to you was finding, and marrying your husband! Together, you make this whole thing work, and that is terrific. I hope that you continue you on your path to success.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, VANESSA! Many, many more!
      Grace

    • Happy birthday Vanessa! You are an inspiration, with the right attitude to succeed in whatever you choose to pursue from the heart. Keep up the good work, and know that looking forward is productive, looking back will get you no where. I am so very proud of you and for you. You go girl!!!

    • You’re grateful, I’m very grateful, we’re all grateful you didn’t pass that bar exam! Because of you I started sewing again and I now have a wonderful sewing studio apart from my main house where I can recharge and be creative. Had I not come across your videos all this would not have happened. Don’t tell me random, chance encounters cannot be life changing! You are truly an inspiring young woman that I am proud to be “associated” with. Reading your life story this morning only confirms my instincts about you. Thank you for your honesty. And I am so happy for you, your good husband, those precious kids, and all the animals on your farm!!!

    • You are a true “walking” inspiration!

    • Very nice life story. I love your quilting products. Have made some of them for gifts for family members. Yours truly Carolyn R. Goode.

    • An amazing story and a wonderful inspiration to everyone! Happy Birthday, Vanessa!!!!

    • Happy Birthday, Vanessa! What a great blog post and sharing of your life and yourself. You are such an inspiration! I feel honored to know you. Best wishes for your birthday today and continued success to you and your family. I know you will continue to inspire others and fulfill your dreams.

    • Happy Birthday Vanessa! Great life story, and I for one appreciate the CG Quilt Club! It inspires me. Thank You!

    • Blessings to you on your birthday! You and your family are truly blessed as we are for you sharing your creative knowledge with us!

    • Happy Birthday!

    • PS: Sorry for such a long post! Sometimes my mind doesn’t know when to stop!

    • Happy Birthday! Enjoy the day….
I so much enjoy your posts

    • I am so very happy that you failed your bar exam! You have made my life so much richer by getting me back in front of a sewing machine. And your retreat is still the best time of my life; I love all my Crafty Gemini friends. Your Muchigan momma has always been proud of you but never prouder than I am this very minute!

    • Wow, Happy Birthday Vanessa. What an amazing post, thank you so much for sharing. You are inspirational. I really appreciate you sharing your story!

    • Congratulations Vanessa! I’ve followed you for over 6 years (when I retired from Education!) You have all done very well. You have encouraged me and many others to enjoy our sewing, even when we didn’t feel we were ‘experts’, we have enjoyed your many adventures! A very happy birthday to you……what did you do today?? Marietta, Brisbane Australia

    • It’s 2:45 in the morning. I’m working night shift. It’s one of those night shifts when everything is so mellow that I’m having a hard time staying awake. I have to tell you how much I’ve enjoyed your sewing, craft, quilt videos. I made a casserole carrier for my sister’s birthday. She loved it. I made head bands for my 2 granddaughter’s basketball teams. Love your videos. Keep up the good work. I wanted to tell you what I did about the mass produced head bands. I ironed the stabilizer to the fabric, then cut them out. Blessings to you and your family.

    • Happy Birthday to you and many more…
Sometimes plans change and when they do it works out better than we can imagine…
Everything happens for a reason and I know we are all glad you choose the paths you have.
I know it wasn’t easy, but your strength prevailed.
      Thanks Vanessa for your inspiration.

    • I absolutely love this post! I love reading your posts about how you got started in business as it reminds me that successful businesses can start in so many unique ways. And they thrive based on hard work and dedication to daily growth. Thank you again, Vanessa!

    • Happy Birthday Vanessa!!!
Thanks for the Quilt Club and all your hard work.

    • Your story is an inspiration indeed! Happy birthday and keep on creating! Thank you for all your designs, tutorials and PASSION!!!
      Brenda

    • I am a 62-year-old black woman and I would like to say I am so proud of you for following your heart and your passion for quilting. I have just started to learn and I enjoy making quillows. Thanks for all you do for the quilting community. May God continue to bless and prosperyou and your beautiful family.

  • I sold it and upgraded for the added features of the DX-7. The F600 is amazing and yes I plan to do a review on this one too… when I get some time. • I sold it and upgraded for the added features of the DX-7. The F600 is amazing and yes I plan to do a review on this one too… when I get some time. They are pretty much identical machines except for a few added features- faster stitching speed, automatic presser foot lifter and you can program the heal on the foot pedal to do a variety of things and not just cutting the thread. Either would be a great choice but the F600 is obviously more affordable as well. Hope that helps. My son has an F300 and it is a dream to sew on too. It’s the base model of the F-series. Juki makes great machines and I have yet to be disappointed with any of them.

    • Love the video! And love the ending! I’m not a beginner, and I learned stuff. Keep up the great work, Vanessa!

    • I like the bloopers they crack me up!

    • The bloopers are great – I haven’t missed a CG tutorial/video in years!! I am really digging the purple print fabric on your little ironing board you made – if you know the name of the line and can share that info I’d appreciate it – craft on pretty lady!!

    • Excellent Video, very informative. ..things we all need to know
      Thanks Vanessa

  • YAY! I’m so happy to hear that, Gail! Glad to help! Did you order your from SewVacDirect by any chance? If so, you are probably getting the little bonus pack of bobbins, needles and 1/4″ foot.

    • Love video my first machine was a baby Janome

    • Great and informative video! Thank you! I am a newbie sewist and this would be great to have!

    • That machine looks awesome!

    • Looks amazing machine, lightweight compact and perfect. My son who has autism is learning to sew and him having his own machine! Would be a dream come true. Unusual for this type of child wants to sew! So want to encourage and give him his own machine! Money so tight (have two children with autism ) so can’t afford one. So it wold be fantastic. Thank you for the opportunity to enter! All the best!

    • Would love to win this machine, so I can take it to classes and retreats, and along on vacations.. Watched Vanessa all the time, and love her tutorials!

    • I love this to take to classes. It’s simple but does everything you’d need. Thank you for in ding this great giveaway.

    • This would be my first Janome. I love basic machines and this would be the perfect machine for me to teach my grandchildren to sew on. Thank you for teaching me to sew Vanessa!! Time to teach my grandbabies all you taught me. 💜

    • Great review Vanessa! It looks like a really nice machine.

    • It would be a blessing if I won the machine. I will donate it to the Men’s shelter where I teach basic sewing and craft projects. We currently have 2 machines (one of them is mine) and it takes a while for the men to complete a project.

    • This would be a great beginner machine for my daughter!

    • Great giveaway! You always have the best products in review! Like some others, my poor machine is old and can’t keep up! You have so many projects I have made on my machine! Love it!

      Good luck to all!

    • Would really like to win this to give to my granddaughter. Looks like just the right one to get her started.

    • I hope we Canadians can enter and I sure hope I do ,I follow your videos every day and tell everyone I know to watch you you are great, thanks for all your informative videos.

    • Hi Vanessa,
I would love to surprise my sister with this machine as she has been wanting to try her hand at sewing as she sees all the wonderful things I sew and have made for her and she loves them!
I would love nothing better than to surprise her with her very own machine to get her started on her way to making amazing items that she can be proud of!

Thank you so much for this giveaway!

    • Nice. Mechanical machine….you did a great job reviewing the machine.

    • Love it. Will give it to my daughter.

    • i’ve been a Janome sewing since i started 5 years ago. could use a small machine to take on trips and retreats. looks like the perfect solution

    • Thank you so much for this video! I have been sewing for over 50 years and have 2 machines (my “old” Featherweight that is over 60 years old and my “new” Singer 2001 Touch Tronic that is nearly 40 years old). I wanted to get something new but had no idea where to look and I didn’t want to spend hundreds and hundreds of dollars. The Janome 2212 is PERFECT for me! Even though I have been sewing for many years, I don’t need a fancy machine. My old 2001 has been acting up quite a bit and I have actually put over $200 into it over the last year or so. Had I known I could have bought a replacement for less than that, I would have jumped at the chance. Now I know, and my new machine is on it’s way. Times have changed so much – This $150 machine will do everything my 2001 does (and it cost over $1,000 when I bought it back in the ’70s! Thanks again and Happy Sewing!

      • YAY! I’m so happy to hear that, Gail! Glad to help! Did you order your from SewVacDirect by any chance? If so, you are probably getting the little bonus pack of bobbins, needles and 1/4″ foot.

        • Yes, I did order from SewVacDirect as you requested. The price was awesome and the bonus bundle put it over the top! 🙂

        • Vanessa – I just received my machine (yay!) and I did receive the bonus bundle with bobbins and needles, but there was no 1/4″ foot. I just wanted you to know to avoid disappointment with anyone else. Thanks.

    • This a great machine! I’d love to win it for my son who wants to learn to sew and loves to watch your videos!

    • Congratulations Sania, great sewing 🙂

  • Hey everyone! Thought I would post a general mixed update about whats going on in the CG sphere.
