This cooler weather really has me cranking out some quick & cozy little projects!  I recently posted my video tutorial on the 45-minute cowl and that was a huge success! So many of you really enjoyed that project. I’m so glad to hear it! If you want to check it out click HERE.  Up next is this slouchy hat called the Metropolitan Ave. Hat.  It’s a free pattern available from Lion Brand Yarns.

To give you an idea of how long it will take to finish I’ll let you know that I crocheted the hat I’m wearing in the picture above in 1.5 hours on a plane ride… and it was my first time ever making it. Once you get the stitches down it can be made in even less time than that. Can you say, perfect holiday gift?!
The yarn I used for this project is called Unique by Lion Brand Yarn. It comes in some gorgeous colorways and is super soft and silky. This was my first time working with this yarn and it was a dream.

If you are looking for an easy crochet hat project to work on this is it! Did I mention that all you need is one skein?! #winning
This hat is especially handy to have if you have a lot of curly hair or dreadlocks. There is plenty of space on the back end of it to tuck in your locks.

I have a yarn store so I need to add this ‘unique’ yarn to my collection. Thanks for sharing. Can you also share the enormous amount of energy you possess in addition to your projects? 🙂

I’m in the process of making this but with another brand and thickness of yarn: Buttercream Luxe Craft, Thick & Thin in pink variegations. It’s taking more than one skein, but I’m using the 10mm N-hook. It crochets up very quickly, and looks really good. Thanks for the pattern!
