Sewing with Knits- Part 2

A few weeks ago you may recall I posted the first part in my new series on sewing with stretch knit fabrics.  You can read that post and watch that video here. This week I’m back with Part 2

If you are still deathly afraid of trying to sew with knits I think this video will help you go for it!  I show you a few different stitches and how they end up looking on the fabric…. what works and what doesn’t… how frustrating it can be to sew with stretchy fabric if you DON’T have the right tools and how easy breezy it is when you have your stuff together!

In this video I cover important information you should know before getting started with stretch knit fabrics including what type of needle and size to use, what presser foot helps sew nice flat and straight seams, stitch selection options (straight, zig zag, stretch), and information on how to pin your fabric.

The key tools I ALWAYS use when sewing with stretch knits are these and this.

Hope you will give it a try and get yourself ready for new tutorials using stretch knits!  The fabric is so forgiving on any body that you just gotta try it! It’s really not that hard.

You can watch the video below or click HERE to access it.
Enjoy!
